Since I'm going to Perak again for National Service (seriously!), I'll just use this drawing I did for the Gopeng camp. It's in the same state anyway...
I'm going off on the 3rd of January and will be back on the 14th of March! After that, it's a march to college. Taylor's to be exact. Until then (and I'll make sure I get back), Happy New Year people!

It's the Same!
Okay... time for a personal opinion.
I've heard Crawl by Chris Brown on Flyfm three times now yesterday afternoon - as if there's no other songs to play in the history of modern day music... Anyway, there's something about this song that just makes my brain click... like, 'where have I heard this before?' The melody (which isn't that bad, actually) is so familiar! Maybe it's an old song that I've heard before...
I was thinking, All You Need Is Love, the Across the Universe version. People say they've commercialized the song but I feel that this one sounds better than the original. Although, I feel that Jim Sturgess tried to keep Paul's style of the song.
My first reaction was, "Yeah!" I don't know why... both are so different but I feel as though they are similar. It's probably just the feeling I got when I tuned in. And rarely do people get tuned in the same wavelength.
Of course, the lyrics for Crawl just puts images of big sign boards with the word RIHANNA in big bold letters in my mind. Elly puts it better poetically...

Where am I going with this? I have no idea. I just rambled a few paragraphs because I wanted to share this strange 'feeling' I got. Music, arts, doodling... it's all feelings.
Last outing with Elle before NS. Shall miss our conversations. I think we're soul mates...
Yeah. Who else reads the newspaper backwards? Haha!

Breakfast at Domdal's
No fancy title here. I don't think the place needs one.
They proudly claim that they bake their breads without preservatives. The sandwiches are cheaper than Subway. And it's all fresh! (at that the time I went, anyway)
I love this place. I don't know why... the atmosphere is just cozy. I mean, the interior is just simple shelves and tables. The food's pretty simple too. Some may say it's bland (or normal only la) but I like the simplicity of it. You can really taste the bread that way, I feel.
Maybe it's the history of it too. I talked to the baker, Henrik, whose dad also owned a bakery named Domdal (it's the family name) back in Denmark, if I'm not mistaken. You can see the black and white pictures on the walls of the bakery.

Fresh toast - comes with the breakfast set
THE breakfast set
A healthy way to start the day. How often can you say that, eh? Scambled egss with seeds (not sure what) for flavouring, a bit of fruit, a small salad, sausages and toast with jam and butter. All that for less than 10 bucks!
Beef sandwich
Oh yum. So glad I ordered this. I love Ciabatta bread. The seasoned mushrooms and everything went so well together. The whole sandwich costs less than 9 bucks.
Of course there's a whole assortment of breads from croutons to loaves to cookies (if he makes the chocolate ones, so worth to try, like, Famous Amos is what now?). But... no pictures here. :)
Something to nibble while waiting for your order

The City's Glowworms
Glowworms is actually one word! Now I know...
In the rain
I sit
behind the glass.
Watching the lights dance,
and SNAP!
the city's glowworms are caught.

Going Up, Going Down
I don't like going up to Genting Highlands for a reason. It's because of two words...
Motion sickness.
Ever since I was a kid, going for piano classes, throwing up when we reached the shopping mall where my mom usually parked her car in was practically a ritual. What a way to start the day, eh?
Thing is, we didn't even really go into the highlands, just the foot of the hills. My uncle drove us for 1 hour plus just to go to this place called Garden View, or Grand View, to eat. Of course, I puked on the way... I think he forgot what kind of car he's driving. It's been awhile since the last time.
Better never, than ever. If that makes any sense...
But the view was really grand (if it really is the name of the place). There's a mini farm at the back of the restaurant named (what do you know!) Mini Farm, with a small natural stream snaking lazily through it.
And the food really is good. No close up pictures here. Just take my word for it. After eating, my cousins and I just walked around the place while the 'adults' cleaned up the rest of the food. There were a few spots that I personally loved.
Definitely will visit again. I like the green, the fresh air and the food too! There's another place in Malaysia to just sit down and relax, but those with a weak stomach have to prepare to get there.
Me: Look over there in the mountains...
Shaun: It's so foggy.
That's the vocabulary of a 6 year old, people...

Some might say ew... Yes, it's fungus. But that's life. I'd show you the explosion of tiny pink flowers that were there, but I found this more interesting. Haha!
The path through the beds. Follow the weathered brick road, they said.
I didn't realize how huge the leaves were until she stood there.

A Post-It Christmas
Mom hosted a Christmas party at S & P. So, sis and I made another Big Art Attack. She was like, "There's this giant wall of post-its at Sunway Pyramid..."
Ding! Had a 'Light bulb' moment.
A Post-It Christmas tree! We took the whole day just to stick and shape the tree... Even my cousin came over to help out. Used three coloured post-its even though the pack had 4 types. Too much colour would have just been an eyesore.
We asked a few kids to write some short notes and wishes on them. Overall, the wall looked good at night with the spotlight on it. And nothing fell! Thanks to the power of double-sided tape, mostly...

Turning Old Levis into a Work of Art
My artsy fartsy friend Liyana has done it again!
She's holding classes at the Levis stores in KLCC and The Gardens, Midvalley to share ideas on reusing old jeans. Think, cool pouches and gifties. It's okay if you've never sewn a button in your life (confession here...), it can be the time to learn!
Sad to say, I'm busy today and tomorrow... But if you people have the time during this weekend, head on to the following venues!
